The first yakiniku restaurant in Greece was created in Kolonaki, within the commercial center of Athens and at
the heart of the city’s nightlife district. The space is dedicated to fine dining and the experience of Japanese
tabletop grilling, complemented by fusion Japanese-inspired cocktails.
The design is based on the integration of Japanese architectural elements within a European urban context,
creating a distinctive cultural dialogue and a unique spatial experience.
A wide staircase, embraced by a vertical garden, leads to the entrance of the restaurant. Guests enter through
a characteristic red leather door and transition into a dark, theatrically atmospheric space. Targeted narrowbeam lighting highlights the tables, while the bar—clad in semi-translucent marble that allows light to pass
through—acts as a luminous focal point within the main area.
The dining zone is organized on a raised wooden platform, where tables and seating elements are integrated
into the flooring, enhancing a sense of intimacy and ritual. Tables are subtly separated by wooden partitions,
while velvet curtains ensure complete privacy, creating an environment of relaxation and seclusion, where the
dining experience takes on an almost ceremonial character.
