The building, with a total area of 3,000 sq.m., is exclusively occupied by the pharmaceutical company and accommodates approximately 100 employees in an open-plan layout, as well as additional staff in enclosed offices.
The architectural intervention focused primarily on the level of detail, aiming to adapt the working environment to contemporary needs of work and communication. The new approach enhances interaction and collaboration among employees, creating spaces that support brief and direct meetings within the workplace itself, without rigid separations of privacy.
At the same time, a key objective was the aesthetic upgrading of the spaces through small-scale yet impactful interventions, carefully integrated into the existing layout.
To achieve the design intent, four main elements were selected: light, partition screens, furniture, and planting. Their combination, through different applications, textures, and color choices, created individual points of interest and contributed to a more dynamic and flexible floor plan.
Within the concept of the “island” and autonomous spatial intervention, the flooring was locally modified to define and highlight seating areas. The neutral grey carpet was transformed into a surface evoking an outdoor environment, referencing cobblestones, exposed concrete, and free-form planting compositions.
The suspended screens contributed both to the organization of circulation and resting areas, as well as to a significant improvement in acoustic comfort, due to their sound-absorbing properties.
Lighting was enhanced through pendant luminaires of distinctive design and vivid fluorescent tones, making the interventions immediately perceptible and giving the space a strong identity.
